Mahjong Guided Open Play
Spend a fun night learning to play and building our Mahjong community.
Do you know the basics of Mahjong and are learning to play, but would appreciate some guidance along the way with things like the Charleston, reading the card, exposures, game flow, etc. Grab some friends and head over to The Villa!
We’ve got you covered with our Guided Open Play session. Instructor Amanda Macke aka “Professor Mahj” will be on hand to coach and guide and answer your burning Mahj questions.
Play Time: Our instructor is on hand for two hours, but we encourage you to come early to order food and wine, eat and socialize.
Price: $20 per person
Format: Social hour and food from 5:30-6:30 PM. Guided play will start at 6:30 PM.
Cards: Official game cards are published each year by the National Mah Jongg League. We’ll have cards to borrow and a limited supply for sale.
4 people per table – If you are signing up with friends, please indicate in the notes section, and we will do our best to seat you together.
Equipment: We provide everything, but if you plan to play regularly, you will want to buy your own official 2026 American Mahjong card. We will have a limited supply available to purchase the night of the event, but you can also get your own here. https://www.nationalmahjonggleague.org/store.aspx#
Wine, beer and food are available separately from Villa Antonio during the class.
